                   Dear Friend:

It is often said that “education is the key to success.” At Sankofa Academy Charter School we are dedicated to providing a quality education that will help make a meaningful difference in the lives of students . . . most of whom will be the first in their families to go to college. By providing the highest standards of teaching, as well as helping students develop leadership qualities, moral values, and a sense of personal and community responsibility, Sankofa Academy Charter School delivers a holistic education that fosters and inspires students to pursue their goal of going to college. And you can help, by giving what you can to our 2008 Lighting the Path Campaign.

Each additional young person you help us inspire today can make a big difference in our world tomorrow. Think about what it could mean if we can awaken the dreams of just a few more bright students and provide them with the keys to a successful future . . . the seventh grade boy who wants to become a surgeon . . . the sixth grade girl who wants to become an entrepreneur . . . the ninth grade girl who wants to become a Supreme Court Justice.

Just a little help is all these students need in order to become someone who will make our world a better place. But they need your help. We need your help. We need your help to offset the costs of providing updated technology software and equipment . . . providing quality textbooks, art supplies and recreation/gym equipment . . . and providing additional enrichment activities that help students gain knowledge and awareness of diverse communities.

As such, Sankofa Academy Charter School will combine your gift with the gifts of your neighbors, colleagues, and friends so that:

·           $50 helps purchase student books and supplies
·           $100 supports the transportation costs for student field-trips
·           $500 purchases and provides new computers and educational software

Your gift to Sankofa Academy Charter School will serve as a spark towards lighting the path to every child’s future. Please consider a contribution to our 2009 Lighting the Path Campaign.

Sincerely,

Sankofa Academy Charter School
