with an initial focus on grades 5 through 8 in year one
(2005-2006) and grades 5 throguh 9 in year two (2006-2007) |

VISION:
To empower children to take charge of their own education
and develop as world-class scholars in an environment of
artistry and cultural reflection.
MISSION:
To develop in each student a love of learning by providing a holistic
education that includes critical and creative thinking, artistic
expression and positive character development (through the
principles of Nguzo Saba & MAAT) - combined with
a rigorous language arts, math, science and technology
curriculum.

CLASS SCHEDULE
Classes begin September 4, 2007 -
School Hours: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Monday through Friday) 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (selected Saturdays)

GOAL
To graduate academically high achieving students who
will be prepared to further their education and will be
poised to effectively take their place in society as world leaders.

OBJECTIVES
Objective 1:
Prepare students to meet or exceed proficient levels of
performance in reading, mathematics and writing as
measured by PSSAs, TerraNovas, SATs.
Objective 2:
Create a culturally reflective educational environmet where
students assume and take responsibility for their actions.
Objective 3:
Implement culturally relevant instructional practices that
take into account student's prior knowledge and learning
style differences.
Objective 4:
Engage parents and community in entire life of the school.
